JAKARTA: Two passenger planes collided at an airport in the Indonesian city of Medan on Thursday, an airline spokesman said, the latest incident to hit the country's beleaguered aviation sector.

A Boeing airplane operated by Lion Air was taxying along the runway after landing at Kualanamu airport on the island of Sumatra when it clipped the wing of a Wings Air craft waiting to depart for Meulaboh in Aceh province.

No one was injured in the incident and authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Well, I guess we know why Lion Group is ordering so many planes...they have to if they plan on destroying them two at a time... :wall:

As one flight attendant on a Southwest flight once said after landing, pilots are known for their flying, not their driving.

I am trying to figure out how this could have even happened. Surly the pilots of the bigger plane would see the line of aircraft waiting to depart and the Wing Air pilots would know a larger plane just landed.

Were they texting and driving or misjudge of distance between the two aircraft?
