I fully agree with the laws of the Republik of Indonesia and believe the laws of this great country (and not those of others) apply equally to me as they would apply to anyone else and rightfully so. I am very sorry and have no excuse first and foremost. I accept and submit to the full consequences of the law.
I should have been very well prepared in advance to pay the fee to extend the Visa Sosial Budaya another month which was in the amount of 1.500.000 for the last and third extension which would have been for a total of six months (e.g. first extension was 300.000, second month extension was 750.000, third and final extension 1.500.000).
My wife and her family got a letter from the justice department at the time as they told me it should have been at the 'harga resmi' of 300.000 for each extension and insisted on resolving everything.
I let them handle it as they knew much more than me as I was still studying Bahasa Indonesia.
In the end I sold all my possessions and paid the 10 million service fee which was quoted to my mertua (mother in law). The officer handed my passport back to my wife with a few new entry and entrance stamps printed inside it
Now I have Stage IV squamous cell lung carcinoma which is a result of my own choices too.
