In case you missed it, the Indonesian phrase has gone viral and worldwide, briefly being the number 1 item trending on Twitter. Om Telolet Om!, roughly translated means "Sir, Honk your horn, sir!", from the Dutch "Oom" meaning Uncle, and the onomatopoeia of the sound the horns supposedly make. It is believed to have originated somewhere in East Java, mainly by little kids standing by the side of the road asking bus drivers to honk their customized horns.

The phrase was then Tweeted at a number of international EDM artists, initially causing confusion. Inexplicably, as these things always go, these artist started retweeting the trend and it gained international attention once EDM DJs started sampling the bus horns in their music. For example Firebeatz in their YouTube video.

Like many other things that have gone viral, people who were born in the last century are forgiven if they have no idea what the hell the ruckus is all about! ;)
Maybe it is harkens to a simpler and more innocent time, when just the honks of a bus can make someone happy.

In this world where divisiveness, fear and hate seem to be winning big recently, it's nice to see (hear) some harmless fun going viral worldwide.

^Its nice to hear telolet-the sound of big buses horn- has become the anthem of simple fun and bring good cheer to the kid in you just like the Good Humor ice cream truck jingle reminds you of childhood summer memories.

Btw Nimbus the bus LED board on the last video says Rimini Centro (Italy) is that right?

I don't know where that was, but it sure wasn't Indonesia.

this is such a great idea as :
a. Indonesia isn't loud enough and:
b. Bus drivers need another reason to use their horns
