But BRITS (I will accept a token American /Canadian or Aussie too ;) ) if you are alone this Christmas & want to come to our gaff, I will cook a dinner up - not promising nice sausages- none exist here.
But I will do a joint of beef & mash & veg & a trifle... If you want sherry in it arrive early & bring a bottle of sherry.

We are not poncy of fancy or anything- wysiwyg.
PM me before 5th Dec Thanks

Point of note:We have dogs - the big ones are not going to be pestering you but the Frenchie is the house dog and he owns the place- you have been warned

I might be able to contribute a bottle of sherry (we have too much, I'd happily part with a bottle) when I see you in Jakarta soon, BA. You can take it back to Bandung for the Christmas festivities. That way I will be there in spirit, pun intended. :)

True. Part of me is feeling grateful for this - low level of cholesterol - but the other part is craving to have some nice sausages from BBQ.

Of course you would be most welcome to be there in person along with the lovely Mr Pusp :)

My aim was just to collect the stragglers up and hopefully have a day /evening of chatter & grub (food to none brits ;) ) and attempt to not be anti-social hahaha

Apologies for any & all typos- on hubbys lil awful laptop & can barely see what I type- am used to using a big TV monitor at home. & I am reluctant to wear glasses.

Rumah Sosis in Lembang is not so bad though. And close for you guys.

Very kind offer BA, but I shall be in Oz celerbrating with my son and grand kids, thanks again

Like I said ... no decent sausages in Indonesia hehe
& R Sosis is abt 1 hour away by scooter. IF no traffic.
They only have the yukky slippy beefy ones there- or they did last time I visited.

& Anglian - have a great time, I am sure you will.

.
The chicken chipolata or so you find in any SuperIndo. But there are some pretty decent ones also...

Those pork sausages that you call Lincolnshire, they even sell in a Carrefour over here. (The big one the Brits call Cumberland, we call chipolata, they are more rare.)

So BA a Belgian with a bad English accent is not invited.. ? I am joking, it's anyhow a little bit too far away and as you know we have also dogs and other animals and the boy who help us is taking 2 days of so we stay home.

I wants me a nice Lincolnshire sausage :) Or a big fat juicy Cumberland one ... oooh drool.

You can get decent sausages, almost like British ones delivered direct overnight from Bali. I got some and they are excellent.

Oh nasigan... you could have come along too.
I'm not creating any big event or anything I just think some people find it hard to be alone at the festive time of year especially if far away from family- so I will adopt people for a day hehe

No religious overtones or requirements - just hanging out.

Thank you, BA. Don't worry, I would have boldly asserted my plan to come with Mr. Pusp (and lil' Puspa, who will be home for the holidays) if we were available. I think we'll be on a plane returning from Bali right about then, though.

I'm always somewhat confound that expats coming from the worst culinary countries of the world, complain the most about the local cuisine in their new habitat and the (un)palatable things they miss.

That some attempt at a dig at me Jstar?
Lol. I just have my tastes & you have yours simple as that. No need to try and be all superior about it - it just makes you look small. Behave.

Oh, but you should look at Dutch Indo forums; complaining that over here is no boerenkool (cale), no decent vla (custard), kroketten (croquettes) and frikandellen (fast food minced meat sausage, mainly horse meat). No difference there, so definitely no feeling of superiority.
