hi, my husband and I have been married more than 2 years, he is Indonesian and me Canadian. We have 1 way flight to go to Indo as we will be settling there (currently living inNetherlands)

question is what kind of visa should i get to enter indonesia?

we have no time for telex from Jakarta as we leave on 9 june.

when in Indonesia how do i convert to itap/kitap? Since we are married legally recognised in indo i heard i dont need to get kitas first is that correct?

is a 1 way flight going to be an issue to obtain any visa?

Ok, quite a few questions here, so let me address one by one.

Probably. One of the conditions of issuing all non-residential visas (visa on arrival, Ijin Kunjungan, etc) is the possession of an onward ticket. Further, airlines my be reluctant to check you in without an onward ticket, as they will be liable if you are inadmissible.

No, you still need to obtain KITAS first, however you can immediately afterward convert to KITAP if you want to. The benefits of doing this immediately are small, you are essentially "wasting" 1 year of the KITAS so that you can get the KITAP right away. You can read a member's experience here:

My recommendation is this: Apply for an Ijin Kunjungan visa sponsored by your husband in the Netherlands. The reason for this is because Ijin Kunjungan is convertible to KITAS. Other visas are not, and that would mean one more trip out of the country.
