I saw this on Quora:
https://qr.ae/TUfSrZ

George is originally from Germany, and he has been living in Indonesia for 30 years.

If you are George, congratulations!

Indeed. Congratulations!

One sentence in the whole article is to be highlighted in my opinion:

"We will give a try, I see there is no reason for NO as you have no criminal record.

Unlike some would like you to believe there is no way to fail the process if you gather all documents and are married wth an Indonesian (this is the case of Georges as per the SK uploaded in the article).

The procedure is administratively a bit heavy (photocopy of this, photocopy of that, legalization of this, legalization of that...etc) but as long as you have all papers/documents required (and the paper required are all MANDATORY to have for any foreign resident anyway.) you will end up an Indonesian citizen.

If you are interested by becoming an Indonesian citizen, please have a look at the procedure here: https://www.expatindo.org/community...indonesian-citizenship.4104/page-4#post-58347

Many thanks for posting this, @Nimbus.

What surprises me is that the process took less than two weeks once he had all the requirements.

A similar process in USA takes months.
