Music

I love this thread because it is giving me such great ideas for my home playlists. It's amazing how fast they get stale; my favorite playlist is currently around 11 hours of music and I still think it needs to have a lot more added to it doesn't get tedious to listen to again. Lots in this thread that I intend to add!

Not sure if I have mentioned this artist before she is pretty awesome.

Mostly something easy, not too complicated.

Well, it's getting late and the kids are in bed, so this one is acceptable...

Looks like lots of music experts here but can any of you help me to download music as I'm a bit bodoh about these things.
Let me start to say I have one of those little Sansui speakers which play a micro-card. I had a couple of micro-cards filled with music but I'd now like to download my own playlist but not sure where to start. I have a spare 16GB card with USB adapter.

My computer is Microsoft with windows 10.....and I use AOL as my default browser although I can use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox....anyone help please?

Depends a bit on the source, David. And also on which file type you need. If you want to use music from Youtube, there are some converters* which will download it to MP3 format. (Normally that is the file type that those speaker systems want.) Obviously you just copy these files then to the SD cards if they are downloaded on your hard disk.

*Here's an example: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

Thanks Jstar....you are correct the speaker uses MP3.
I checked your link and it was OK but I'd prefer to download albums from bands/vocalists...my preference is golden oldie jazz. I can use itunes but they want me to pay...I'm Scots so like things free!!!
Also, when downloading do I have to wait for the download to actually 'play' or is it downloaded quickly? i.e.e should I start downloading overnight?

Of course that exists but in fact they're mostly illegal so better not discuss that over here. Personally I always used Last.FM with scrobbler (which, I assume, does get the artist paid). And all these sites as SoundCloud and MySpace at the time have a rather limited amount.

If you have the original CD's or records, that is a different story; you can easily argue it is for your own use and you paid for the original. This is called ripping. There are tools as freeRIP which will transfer your album into MP3.

Top three places at this year's Bali Blues Battle.

You might like this then. See the right side of the screen.

MP3 files are not so big so you can download them 'on the fly'.

Talking about jazz, but in a modern jacket; Tom Barman the Deus singer, has a side project (again). Cool band name btw.

And in two weeks time we will experience that again...

i have been absent from the forum for a while .. and wow...
saw this thread, and i am amazed there are so many names i dont know.
i grew up with music from the 60's and 70's . then found later on some singers along my teens and youth years, like madonna, bonnie bianco, celine dion, michael jackson, michael bolton etc. later on i fell in love with broadway songs.. something that tell stories.
and nowadays, i like some country music. like carrie underwood, brad paisley, luke bryant, reba, dolly, . this is a not-so popular in Indonesia.

I've never seen a blind musician I didn't like.
