Sorry for the layout but this editor version does not offer a proper table format. Note there are obviously regional holidays not in this list.

Discussed with El_G and he might include such an overview in the Expat Indo website.

Which of these is the last day of fasting? (Followup: when will restaurants, bars, etc. resume "normal" operations?)

Jun 24 is the last day of fasting, Jun 25 is Eid (in fact, fasting is forbidden). The holidays then officially last till Wednesday, but wouldn't be surprised if most people take Thursday and Friday. Then life should be mostly back to normal by the following Monday. People that have long "mudik" trips may take even later to come back to work (typically non-formal workers).

Sounds about right from my experience last year. As still fairly new to Indonesia, I was surprised that the holiday never seemed to end. I was relieved that things were back to normal, but then most of my friends were still gone for mudik. Freedom with no one to enjoy it with!

I dropped by a local store last week on Monday, and I'd been planning to check this place out for a while. Decided to get there well before Ramadan. It was already closed. Not a big deal, just found it interesting.
