Life in Kerobokan Prison

Cameras have been allowed into Kerobokan prison. Admittedly we might only be seeing Kerobokan's best side, but from what I can tell, it could be a lot worse - a LOT worse. It actually appears to be quite a pleasant place, for an Asian jail.

Why would one want to escape if you only have 3 months to do, unless of course you will pass go and end up in a prison in Perth

This was broadcast on the 13th June, the escape happened on the 18th? It's quite possible, if in fact the inmates did get out via the tunnel, they could have been digging at the same time the journalist and camera crew were putting together their story. Taking advantage of a distraction perhaps.
