Hi,

I am currently a holder of a KITAS and my job in Jakarta will be ending. I am going to apply for a Exit Only Visa and have a few questions:

  1. Can I pick the date I want to leave (ie: If I started the process now and wanted to pick a date to leave about a month from now can I)?
  2. Is there any issues with leaving items I brought in from abroad (not part of my initial entry) and pick them up in a couple months (reenter with a Visa on Arrival)?

Thanks In Advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

1. When you apply for the Exit Permit it will be stamped with "Must leave Indonesia in ____ days", which is usually 7 days.

2. Usually no. It's the bringing stuff in that gets scrutinized a lot.

I am not 100% sure but IF your kitas is sponsored by the empoyer isnt it a case where only employer can apply for your epo?

First thanks very much for the quick reply.
I have a few followup questions below...

Do you know approximately how long it takes to get the approval once you apply?

I assume the 7 days starts from the approval / issuance (vs a date you can set)?

So they don't try to collect any kind of customs for anything you are leaving with regardless of whether when you initially leave with Exit Only Permit or a Visa on Arrival?

Just asked them and apparently you need to apply yourself (easiest thru an agent)

Correct. Customs in Indonesia is for goods arriving only, not leaving. Also check with your destination country if they need any proof regarding the repatriation of goods.
