How to obtain Indonesian Citizenship

Could I just ask, were there any procedures relating to your work, for example proof of permission to work, proof of payment of taxes, letter from manpower, questions about your sources of income, or anything like that in the process?

To add to the saga... this is now day 3 of trying to get my SK document, FML!
I have been approved I just don't have the file /document to prove it- I do have 4 pesan from the direktor all saying the same thing.
Permohonan Pewarganegaraan Diterima
Application for Citizenship Accepted

Ahu have now sent in the IT dept to fix their website/software.
They are very sorry & hope the issue is resolved quickly.

I am pretty sure Puspa is chuckling away if she reads this .
Congratulations. It seems it was starting to get to you so I trust there is now an appropriate level of relief.

There will be when I have a document in my hands to take to immi & capil - my visa is well expired now and KTP & at this stage I am powerless to do a thing about any of it- so just biding time :)
It has not been stress free & has taken months & months to get to this part so I am not the least surprised that yet another obstacle has popped up.

Nothing as I am IRT/Pensioner :D
Those are not questions that rear their head in ahu part.
In the SKIM & SKCK parts we got asked & the forms ask too.

My KITAS expired almost a month ago while immigration has all of my paper work (including my passport) for my KITAP. I have been told repeatedly not to worry about it, just wait. Not like I have any other choice at this point.

Not selling Mie Ayam Rp. 7000 like like the viral bule cantik from Jogja? Or scotch bajigur instead of mie ayam, with big red lip and tongue logo. I'll give a try.

That's a whole different thing- if Immigration has your documents they have your passport too there is no alternative but to wait.

Mine isn't a case of a visa change, basically if my bid for c/ship failed I would have to leave here & then come in & start working my way back up to an ITAP from scratch. I still have my passport.

Luckily it hasn't failed- just their website.
I am technically an Indonesian citizen now I just don't have the document. Yet.

Since you still have your British citizenship, I wonder if you are technically an Indonesian citizen yet? In fact even when you get the Indonesian passport, and you still have your British passport (before you have started the cancellation/renunciation procedure), what is your status at that point - dual citizen for a few days/weeks? And could you just accidentally forget to cancel your British passport, but just not use it any more?

If one doesn't cancel the original citizenship within a set timeframe then the original citizenship becomes the legal one once again & all efforts have been wasted- I am unsure of the time frame - though I have 6 months poking about in the back of my head- I think I must have read that somewhere :D
The UK side of things doesn't have any time limits but the Indonesian side of things does..
Once I have this SK document I must go to the UK embassy & cancel my UK passport & get a letter to say so, then I must go through the procedure of renunciation of citizenship online with the Home Office. I have to show Indonesian authorities that I have cancelled my UK passport & I assume at some point once it is done that I have renounced my citizenship. -less sure of that procedure at this stage.

A friend told me there were rumblings that RI is considering dual citizenship matters again. - Oh if only that were true it would save me a chunk of cash in these trying times.

Congrats BA. So, what's next 2024?
I can vote you for Jawa barat.

Is the person in charge of alcohol control an elected official?

I have to say a huge thank you to those who contributed to this thread, it has been my main go to guide also a thank you to those who congratulated me on this- it really has been a team effort- with hubby the main contributor along with his sister & a bloke at KanWil
As you have seen I added bits where I hit hurdles & found the answers.
Best of luck to anyone else who chooses this route & happy to respond to any messages or queries to help if I can.
