How old are you

Young at heart, although with 47 still also young in numbers...

I'm 55 at the moment, 56 soon, but I demand a discount because I'm from Yorkshire.

Not raging about being 49 years old. Perhaps raging about not being 29 again
Pardon my error. The wisdom of your words suggest insights into life -- garnered from broad experience -- that come into ever sharper focus as death approaches.

Why thank you sir I shall accept that as a compliment.

Plenty of insights into life and plenty of broad experience - just been very lucky I guess

In a famous scene from the 1963 classic, Tom Jones (Albert Finney) said to a well proportioned servant girl (played by Diane Cilento) during a chance evening meeting in the woods, "It's a good night to be abroad and looking for game."

Is your "broad" experience along similar lines as the innuendo in the movie?

ps Perhaps you are too young to remember that movie.

Too young to remember the film but I get it - and yes plenty of broad experience :tongue1:

I just smoothed out a wrinkled parchment seemingly made of papyrus....it has my name on it.
I looked at the inked part which seems to be written in 'ye olde English' and it says 3 June 1937....according to my trusty calculator it means the document is 81 years old today. That's a co-incidence as it's also my 81st birthday today.....oops! I'm looking at my birth certificate.

I think I'll frame this antique....not me....I meant the certificate.

In my African handcraft shop I used to sell these brass, copper and iron rings for $4. I put a sign saying, "Live forever Rings. Money back guarantee." The thing was that people would laugh but then buy them. I think most of us are fundamentally superstitious, want to believe in magic and live for a long time. However, I do recall one young man narrowing his eyes and eyeing me suspiciously with a "Hah, you don't fool me" look.

And then occasionally some would pick up the brass rings and ask, "Are they really gold?" For $4....? Anyway, with the shop now closed there is probably a long queue of zombies on the footpath clamouring to get their money back.

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DAVITA (P.S. Would you like to buy a live forever ring?)

Thanks for the wishes harry....but I heard there's a problem with those cheap 'live forever rings'.....they usually expire before the wearer does.

I got one of those certificates, it’s the only certificate I’ve ever been awarded, quite proud of it really, have a good day, several beers are in order
