Here is a story that doesn't inspire confidence in Indonesian Aviation security.
A man with the initials of AM is accused of murdering his wife Indria Kameswari, a BNN employee, on Friday Sept 9, 2017
According to a release by Bogor Police quoted on Kompas, it is alleged that on the day of the murder, AM went to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, and was caught by airport security scanners with 3 bullets in his possession.
According the airport security, AM was detained, and had claimed that the bullets belong to his brother who is in the armed services. Airport security then asked him to fetch his brother, unsupervised. AM used this opportunity to escape, and somehow board a flight to Batam, where he was arrested three days later.
