Hi Andy. Climate-wise a good decision, Malang. Do you like it there?

Yes mate. Very much. I've been with my wife for over ten years so we've made the trip pretty much annually. I was considering Bali but after looking at real estate versus the travel into town for work etc, we figured on heading to Malang. As you said lovely weather and climate and the new freeway to Surabaya works a treat.

Since the borax scandals I’m not so fond of bakso anymore.

Tempeh mendol is also rather famous. And orem2 of course; reminded me a bit of opor but it has a stronger taste and with tempeh (of course). Everything seems to be served with tempeh.

I remember there were only prop planes to Bali at the time; did that change or do you need to go to Surabaya for the bigger planes and longer flights?

737's with Lion but also still ATR's. Nice quick flight compared to the drive to Surabaya and then the flight.
