Here's a photo of one - there are at least two others:

Well if they come with a 100,000rp note I would be over the moon, if they are edible that would be a bonus, but they don’t look very nice

Well......I didn't realize I was so materialistic but once I saw the 100,000rp I didn't even notice the mushroom. All I could think of was 'boy I would sure like to pick up one of those 100,000 notes'.

That mushroom does not look particularly appetising.

Heh, yeah...we put that there to make it clear how big the 'shroom is. That photo was taken last night. It's bigger today.

There are two more mushrooms we photographed this morning. That's my hand with them:

Perhaps they are aliens, I’ve not seen them so big

Google is usually my friend but I am not having any luck figuring out what they are. Googling "Mushrooms SE Asia" just leads to a lot of sites devoted to discussing psychedelic mushrooms.

Oh magic mushrooms

I'm thinking they may be 'magic' mushrooms...especially being priced at Rp100,000 apiece....:becky:

Would need to see the colour underneath too I figure, to positive ID it.

Well done Ms. B! I think you've got it.

The specimens are gone now, no doubt having been removed by our zealous gardener. If they reappear I'll be sure to take a peek at the underside before they disappear again.

It is edible, but I would caution you to be absolutely certain before picking/cooking & eating- I am now scared of eating such things, yet as a kid one of our fave autumn Sunday morning activities was wandering off down the fields with dad to pick mushrooms for breakfast.
Oh how sanitised we have become with the invention of supermarkets & shrinkwrapping.

When I was a kid we would go over to the airfield and pick mushrooms by the basket, sadly one day a polish gent must have picked a toadstool and died, we were then banned from picking.
But in the RAF Sunday morning we would pick mushrooms take them to the cookhouse and get them fried in butter and go back to bed with a huge pile of mushroom sandwiches

In the RAF we thought we were mushrooms......... 'coz our bosses kept us in the dark and fed us horseshit....:noidea:

Well, if one looks closely, I believe there is a little resemblance between your avatar and the mushroom in the first photo ... coincidence?

hahaha....maybe that's what you get from stealing mushrooms. I used to look like a cross between Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.....then something happened!
