Can your wife go apply in person at the closest immigration office? Even better if you can be present (come in on a VOA). I have not been impressed with the online system when I have tried to use it.

Apparently you can't get KITAS after entering on a VOA, only via e-vitas or 60 day tourist visa which is apparently also applied for online

I'd planned to get the e-vitas, turn up for a few weeks, get KITAS & then take off again due to commitments but now it's too late & I'll have to get VOA.

I may go to the local immigration office with my wife just for a laugh although I can see they will fob us off with the usual “send an email” which my wife has done several times without any response. Past experience sees me stay right away from immigration & only go there when I have to for biometrics etc..

Went there one time, got a ticket & sat waiting for ½ an hour or so before the staff started looking at us with cow eyes then one by one slowly disappeared so my wife asked what was happening & was told they'd gone to lunch ….lol

My wife tells me ditjen_imigrasi is active on Instagram 24/7 with over 230 people asking questions about online applications, all have been read but none have been answered.

Yes, happened to me couple of times. At 12 they roll down the blinds for 1 hour. ... then they wonder why they stuck in middle class economy.

Macvert, I have a few whatassap numbers of the inmigration office, if you want I can send them to you with a private sms, they were helping me a lot when I had the problem applying for the Vitas one year ago on line from overseas. They don´t reply inmediately sometimes but they do

(1) Yes can't convert voa . (2) Have to come on b211 .. now to convert to itas.

Update of the above :
(1) Now you can convert : VOA > 60 days "Bridge" Stay Permit > ITAS

(2) Immigration changed (probably all) the visa codes and a few visas , and created many new visas .
The old "Sosial Budaya/Social Cultural" Visit Visa which we used in the past was one that changed . To cover its many purposes , many new (more specific) visas were created (like : 'Social/Humanitarian/Volunteering' Visit Visa , Music Performer Visit Visa , Student Visit Visa , Short Course Visit Visa , ...)

Similarly to what we did with the old sponsored Social Cultural Visit Visa , I understand that foreigners married to Indonesians now could get the non-sponsored 60 days Tourist Visa and later convert it into an ITAS sponsored by the Indonesian spouse (see references below) .
