I have a local bank account which is not Visa or MasterCard so i need something recognized for on-line shopping. I heard Mandiri has a special card for on-Line payment is this the best option.
I don't feel like giving Tokopedia/Bukalapak access to my US$ debit card when i open a real International bank account.

Your local bank account should offer you a local atm debit card which would work
Or you can pay with that account directly and even make a virtual account with limited funds inside
BCA is good also

Nothing needed besides your Indonesian bank account if your bank is supported. (Big four.) Most online shopping systems have the option of bank transfer.

The exact problem. My account is not with any of the backs on the lists. It is more like a glorified payroll dept. than a bank. Which is why i need another one. So I'm going CIMB as they have a branch in Thailand. I need a local "card" for on-line payments.

Before doing that I would check of CIMB really offers any advantages for multi country accounts. I found with Citibank etc. it would cost me a lot extra to upgrade to gold accounts which would offer seemless integration. Many banks, even in the ASEAN group, are country specific and separated/isolated.

Best accepted here are Mandiri and BCA. And if you want to use it in supermarkets also, go for the latter.

OK I'll check cheers

Niaga allows you to create virtual credit cards that last a few days and with an amount you want. I always use these for online shopping.

Security is not great here, even from the big stores. I used a fresh VCC at Mapemall online once and someone there tried to create an account using my info at Entropay. Had I used my bank card they would probably have siphoned off a large amount of cash. Mapemall did nothing about it, not even an apology, never used them since.

For Tokopedia you can also use the virtual account feature and then transfer to make payment.

Isn't that a bank-independent MasterCard feature/product? I thought the CIMB NIAGA product (also using that) was OctoPay?

It is different to Octopay. You can quickly setup prepay virtual mastercards, I've even used them to pay for things abroad with no issues.
