“If any citizen, be they lecturer or civil servants of the ministry, is disloyal to Pancasila, the Republic of Indonesia, then they are breaking the law and must be sanctioned.”

Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said similar sanctions would also be imposed on civil servants in provincial and district governments across the country. “The ministry has formed a team to collect evidence. Is there proof of them preaching, mobilising or recruiting others to join anti-Pancasila groups?”

Indonesia is also suspending support for the country’s Boy Scout movement, chaired by a former minister who was caught on video expressing his support for Hizb-ut Tahrir at a 2013 rally.

“We have advised our members to remain calm and surrender their fate in the hands of God. We will continue spreading the teachings of Islam.

Anecdotally, someone was discussing how there is now pressure in some Indonesian Universities for Deans, or whoever is in charge, to be Muslim. As only Muslims should be the heads of departments.
