President Trump authorized an attack on a Syrian airbase and 59 Tomahawk missiles were fired. He has been on TV to announce the reason for his decision. We need to wait and see what the Russian reaction will be.

Having seen images of the poor children suffering from the Sarin attack I would have taken out Assad, I have no idea what Assads military objective was, It served no useful purpose

When Obama drew his red line when Syria used chemical weapons previously and threatened to attack Syria, Trump was front and center saying attacking Syria would be a bad, bad thing. Now, before actual proof that Assad was behind the chemical attacks, a year after US inspectors claimed there was no more chemical weapons under Assad's control, Trump launches an attack on the Airbase where Syria launches against the rebels.

2 things come to mind.

1. Attack could take the focus off the current Russia probe. So far, that doesn't seem to be working.
2. Send a message to Xi that in regards to N. Korea, the US is not afraid to use it's military. That probably won't work either.

Here's a good article published on the heels of the chemical attack but before the Tomahawk launches:

Striking Assad in Retaliation for Gas Attack Is a Horrible Idea

The best outcome would be that Russia condemns Assad and joins forces to remove and replace him. This way they save face and they keep their foothold in Syria with a new puppet president of their own. Then everyone can focus on ISIS again.

Trump claims it's a one time thing. That would not be the normal plan for such actions. Normally, after evaluating the damage from the first attack, it would be followed up with other strategic attacks. Chances are very good there were no aircraft on the ground. They would have had ample warning of the incoming missiles coming in at 100 feet altitude flying in a non direct route to the target. Planes would have scrambled.

59 Tomahawks would have done considerable damage to the facilities since it seems to be a small base. Waiting to see if any damage photos get shown and if it's extensive, I'm sure Trump will want them shown. Taking out one small base's airfield will probably have little effect of what's happening there.

If a one and out, it will look to be a ratings booster effort and that's all.

From my reading, my guess is...

This attack had very less to do with Iran and a lot to do with North-Korea which Trump is now talking about with the president of China.

So you get rid of Assad, who takes his place, Russia just wants a naval base, in a war situation it probably wouldn't last five minutes, all the factions fighting, would they be any better than Assad, it's a mess, to me best not get involved as it will just go on and on, most Arab countries hate each other and Iran, the Turks hate the Kurds, the US trained and armed a group who on completion of their training went over to ISIS, from photos the Airbase doesn't look that damaged, so all in all the suffering of the Syrian people continues

Wow, Kratos was in Syria when the bombs were loaded and knows exactly what was loaded. You get around.

Is there a picture loader here that is simpler than Kaskus's. Cause I'd use that

bear in mind, Saudis also bombed some Yemeni spots last week and no one care

Well they are only Iranian supporters so who gives a shite, plus Saudis if I recall have a low opinion of Yemenis in general anyway
