Hey everyone. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I browsed the last forum quite often but it seemed awfully dead most of the time. A nice guy on one of the fb expat pages linked me here, so here I be. Names Eric, moved here last month to be with my fiancee/wife in north Jakarta. Been helping out with her store and getting settled in. Nice to meet you all.

I think we are all spread out around the place, there are members in Jakarta and lots other locations. So I guess many of us are in a different place to most.
Hmm I guess the nearest member to me is about 40minutes, by scooter, away.

The old forum seems to be getting it's technical problems under control though. Perhaps the new software is not so bad after all.?

The software used here is definitely more stable in my opinion.

I see you're into gaming, what do you play? I picked up Battlefield 1 beta this week and it's pretty good!

I play ps4. I used to play Xbox and ps4 back home. I have some games I haven't even been able to really start playing yet. How's the battlefield beta so far?

It's pretty good. Amazing graphics, gameplay is tight, weapons feel right. They trimmed the fat a bit, removed the engineer class, vehicle spawn system is different. No commander anymore but still using squads. Dynamic weather system is good. You never know what weather you'll get during a match. Clear skies, fog or sand storm and they all dramatically affect the gameplay. Forget about tanks and planes during a sand storm.

I'll have to check it out when I have some free time. Between work and starting my own buissnes I dont have much free time for gaming.

What do you mean with different area? If you're referring to living area there are expats in North Jakarta, I'm one of them .

PIK is really close to JakBar and Pluit. Many expats there.
