I kind of wonder (sometimes) what would happen if someone decided to broadcast (at reasonable sound levels) a five-minute peal of church bells calling worshippers to Sunday Mass.
I haven't seen any news on how this lady's appeal went.
Her Pengadilan Tinggi appeal was rejected.

There is a long time that the body of Justice is decayed and don't even need a coffin scouser59.Another nail in the coffin of justice here , very sad for the lady , Wonderful Indonesia ,Ya sure !
If one can't deal with this, then Indonesia is not the country where one should settle because it is not gonna change.
Oh sure it can....it's changing for the worse.
There were about 8 blasphemy charges in Indonesia during the time of Suharto (65 to 98), and almost 90 since (90 to 2017).

Seems the woman who complained about the Mosque volume which triggered sectarian violence ending in a Buddhist temple being burned down is facing 1.5 years punishment. Just crazy

So she faces a far worse sentence than the guys who burned down the temple. Not to mention the fact that she was probably right. I know that if you take noise level samples in my neighborhood that the volume from the loud speakers would be significantly louder than accepted safe levels. Im sure there are probably laws even in Indonesia about sound levels but as always no one wants to confront the issue.
I know quite a few Indonesians of Chinese descent, and the thought that they should just leave the country is abhorrent!I know life is not always this simple but if I was of Chinese descent I would likely look at taking my family out of Indonesia, if I could. Being Chinese seems to be a reoccuring theme for possible blame/persecution.

... Chinese Indonesians with normal social and economic status are trying to get out
I hope that Indonesia can morph into a country where everyone is welcome. All religions, ethnicities, and the many other different people that make the country up.
My area on the south coast around Pelabuhanratu seems to have fortunately "arrived".
In my two decades here I have only experienced (or heard of) ONE negative experience. Shortly after arrival when I was still a newbie (and still a smoker) I was caught smoking during Ramadan and mildly admonished - wrist slapped, cigarette out and all OK.
