If you are going to quote me kindly quote the whole sentence and keep the meaning in context. By shortening ...as you have done...it makes the sentence sound ridiculous. In this case you're only responding to something you want to comprehend and not to what I actually said.

My post was to emphasize that the current laws about human rights in most countries were written for a normal world. Recently, this normality has been abused and I'm suggesting that those laws maybe need amending to reflect this new reality.

Most families have knowledge of what their relatives are up to. If a family member commits a terrorist act, or behaves in a nefarious way, privacy law doesn't require them to inform security or police.
It's recorded even when terrorist family members, friends and religious leaders have reported to police no action was taken....authorities said they were restricted given the laws as they stand.

There are courts to satisfy innocence or guilt but the laws, as they stand, appear to legally prevent security personnel from using tools to protect innocent bystanders getting blown up.

I suggest that needs to change and I read most countries are in process to do that...I hope Indonesia also responds to this.

Creating more laws or amending them isn't going to curb Islamic terrorist acts. The key has always been and will always be in the hands of the so called Muslim majority. I say so called because they have strayed so far from much of what the Koran says in written word, they are like a different religion. The terrorists represent much closer to much of the Koran writings than the majority minus the peace and loving parts.

Until the majority rise up, regardless of any laws and put the Kibosh on the terrorists, these terrors will continue. The "war on terror" was and will always be lost until the majority has had enough.

I don't really agree, my wife and her family hold just as much in horror at these idiots and have nothing in common with them than the name of the religion they supposedly follow. Moderate muslims often condemn killings and so on, but who listens to them. You only need to read a little of what DanInAceh writes to understand that moderate muslims are considered to be misguided and wrong to understand that extremists would not listen to moderates anyway.

Could Christians in America have stopped Anders Breivik ? So why are the moderate muslim majority going to have any more or less influence than any other person on ISIL and the other morons ?

Yes some have spoken up but few and far between and if there has been any action put to words (rise up), I haven't heard about it.

Well much to the surprise of everyone the Iraqi army has taken Mosul, probably with not too many prisoners, most residents of Mosul it seems on the TV images are very pleased to see the end of ISIS, is it the end of ISIS, probably not.
What to do with ISIS survivors, most of what they have been doing is allowed in the Koran, so you are going to have a job to convince them they are wrong, you might reconvert some but the hardliners never,
