Advice Re 6 Month KITAS Extension

Everything takes longer in Lombok but even I was surprised at just HOW long this took ... filed paperwork and handed over passport end of September 2015, was asked to come and pick it up end of January 2016 ... but that was for KITAS I

You should be in bekasi. My last two KITAS renewals took a week. Submit the paperwork (done by my wife), back in 2 days for photo and then pick up in two days. I will be submitting my KITAP application soon and immigration in Bekasi have told me it should take no longer than a month but that is because it has to be sent to another office.

Well for the KITAS renewal I was told to come back in a week for payment and photos, so that's SOME improvement! But for the alih status to KITAP the pegawai i spoke to last week did confirm that I would be without a passport for at least 4 months. I'm not sure I understand why it takes so much longer from Lombok. Does the application get sent to Jakarta on foot or something?

Update for anyone interested: A 6 month KITAS extension was NOT possible for me (in Lombok). I was at KanIm Mataram yesterday, and I was only offered the 1 year extension so paid the Rp 1.855.000, got photos and fingerprints, and will go back next week to pick up my passport and KITAS card. So, processing time of 2 weeks (application --> issue) for 1 year KITAS II (in Lombok).
