Ok i love the tut tut in jarkate (3 wheel taxi) and they dont have them in manado. I really would love to buy one for my wife to tool around in with our dog. Does anyone know of dealership for them that i can get one shipped up here?
Does any one know it they are automantic or stick shift want a automatic. Thanks guys

My goodness, Steve, you are really getting into the local scene. Maybe a motor with a sidecar as an alternative to a Bajaj, or a customized scooter....

Never ever say tut-tut here, that is the name used in other Asian countries. (And very touristy.) Bajaj is the official name of the Indian manufacturer btw. They still exist and make mainly motorcycles.

The orange ones are decommissioned and replaced by the blue ones. (Pollution) The orange versions are two stroke and manual. That means you need to add oil to bensin in a certain proportion. The blues are on CNG (natural gas).

There are some for sale. Look bere for instance: http://m.olx.co.id/iklan/bajaj-roda-3-bajaj-orange-IDk35li.html?code=baba0e2a26

So what is next, a gerobak?

This takes the term "low rider" to another (lower) level.....

Why not a Viar with a custom cover on the back?

I want one too!!!

I've wanted one since I was in Thailand poddling about in them... and for sure there would never be a better way of finding every single pot hole. in the street with all the 3 wheels.
Not sure I know what to do abt mixing the pop with the oil- my scooter runs on Coke, Fanta& Sprite ;)

Is a bajaj safe? With the conversion i mean....

That cracks me up bad azz cause when we frist visited i told my wife after seeing all those coke bottles outside the stores that they mustnt use food coloring in the coke because its so clear....than i found out it was gas. Still dont trust the fanta though.

Hahahaha.
I just can't figure out why there aren't more fuel related fires around the place than there are- it certainly makes the petrol stations look like they are waaaay over-reacting with the whole bunch of rules they have

To make an orange bajaj road worthy you'd have to replace the engine with a four stroke automatic.

Although shifting gears via the steer is quite easy; most light motorbikes of 50 cc used to have that.

Anybody heard of the Swedish electric bajaj test? Seem to have vanished.

I'm just curious as to the legitimacy of these vehicles on the roads outside of Jakarta (the blue ones, I guess seeing as the orange ones are not seen as legit now).
So can I legitimately buy one of these and drive it around in Bdg for example & what SIM- I assume SIM C.

Am thinking of getting one for the hubby :D Then he can ferry me & the dogs around in it hehe

Why would you ?? I have a couple of mates that have them and they are road legal. The engine in a Bajai is basically an Indian produced Vespa engine that runs taller gearing and is shaft driven to the rear left wheel.

I'd love to have a garage and replace the engine.... With an electric motor and get the batteries in for a good 100km range (translating to 30km.or so in stop and go traffic)

Electric ?? Nah this is the way to go, imagine how much fun this would be :uk:

With the right motor, I can beat the acceleration. But probably not top speed. ;)

In college I actually worked in and was involved with the SAE Formula and SAE Baja projects. The formula had a cbr600 motor into a one person open wheel go-kart. The baja was much more limited with a briggs and Stratton engine :(
