    New laws- Government control

How are you going to get an accurate measurement? Using an Android cell phone is the same as using a potato. A good, accurate DB meter is several thousand dollars. How many meters is the official max limit supposed to be measured? 100 db at at how many meters? Just like example earlier from AI...

    New laws- Government control

Instead of me doing the measurements and explanations let's just let AI handle it. I'm assuming 50 meters, closer and the numbers drop by small amount, further and the numbers go up exponentially. To get 120 dB SPL at 50 meters, you need an enormous amount of power, likely in the tens of...

    DIY - Renew KITAS

Once an agent is involved, unless they want to help free you (usually at a price) it is very hard to accomplish anything without them. However, it would seem that there must be someway to get free but it's probably not quick or easy.

    New laws- Government control

Are you back to that highly improbable decibel number again? I thought we had settled that a long time ago. The mosque loud speakers are not 10,000 watt concert PA systems. And to measure 120 DB at the distance you are from the mosque is almost impossible even if they were. I have lived in...

    New laws- Government control

I disagree with your statement wholeheartedly and I'm not sure what you are basing it on. How much have you studied Islam and what are the local practices that are different? Other than loud speakers which do seem to exist (at least in some places but oddly enough never where I have been for the...

    New laws- Government control

It's funny. Go to Saudi and you can barely hear the calls to prayer directly across from a mosque.

    The drab hand of religions.

55 been here 8 years. I can speak about what I know and I know what I have heard and what I have expereiced, It's the others using terms like "all don't want to" or " if they they say they do it for god they are liars" that rubs me the wrong way. And I was one of the firsts one to say not to use...

    The drab hand of religions.

Whey they say the do if for Allah, I believe them. When they say they don't feel mistreated by their religion, I belive them. What makes you so sure that they are lying? How many muslim people have hung around for 8 or so hours a day and actually talked to each other. You are getting like others...

Like I said before my wife and her family would disagree with your assesment. I have talked to too many that all say they do it for "Allah". Maybe you are choosing women from the wrong places if you have those ideas.

    The drab hand of religions.

Been in and out of Saudi, UAE and Qatar many times. Never seen anything like that in the past 15 years. Iran are Shia Muslims, maybe they think differently.

I always take the easy escape just like others that will not be named. I'm done now back to your regular scheduled post.

Not even Emmanuel Macron knows France better than you. Sorry had to do that.

    The drab hand of religions.

My wife has sisters and cousins that live in the US, They continue to wear hijab. So from my point of view and experience, they do it because they want to even though it many not be popular in the area they liv e. Sorry but I can't speak for anyone else.

    The drab hand of religions.

All Muslims are not extremists. All religions have some extremists. Maybe you have heard of Jonestown or the Spanish Inquisition? The only time a killer gets their religion revealed is when they are a Muslim. Clearly Islamophobia. Living in Indonesia and complaining about Muslims is like living...

I promise you my wife is not a liar and neither are any of the women in her family. You can never deal in absoluttes.

    The drab hand of religions.

I knew this post would wake you up. It's meant mostly as humor but also makes a point. I disagree that women are being forced to do this. Maybe some feel some peer of familial pressure but I don't think that those numbers are high. I have socialized with many, many Muslims over the past 8 years...

    The drab hand of religions.

It almost sounds like you two are upset because you can't look at their body shape anymore. If a woman want's to wear modest clothing for her religion, what is the problem? If a Muslim man is dressed properly, you shouldn't see his knees or his belly button. Them's the rules and you don't have...

Custom values for bringing phone from outside the country

In that case, it should be fine but I would double check the values in Indonesia because they tend to be a little higher and I'm sure the government will use the higher one.

    Global Citizenship Indonesia

It seems like you are the one that lacks comprehension. I was simply explaining the reason for the change and that it wasn't something the government would have done if sellers had followed the rule.

    Global Citizenship Indonesia

If the sellers had been paying the proper taxes, it wouldn't be in the state it is. White listing phones that have the tax paid is an easy solution to the problem. If you don't like it, blame the unscrupulous cell phone dealers that were bypassing the tax system.
