    If you are renewing their foreign passport then you can just apply for their affidavits. If you want to also renew their Indonesian passports then affidavits are part of the prerequisites.

    We had one version of affidavit issued by overseas consulate in 2019 on a piece of paper (that also has no indication of expiration, but has passport numbers written on it). Now with the newly renewed foreign passport, I'm wondering whether that document it is still valid.

    If I am not mistaken... "ex Indonesians start from 15.000 USD obligatory investments" in Pasal 52 is only applicable to those applying without penjamin/sponsor. Though I find it quite interesting, why would any ex-WNI return to the country without sponsor?

Then I got that translated into english through a sworn translator service. This letter then become the required document to process 'surat kehilangan kewarganegaraan'...
