    Naturalisation

Sorry I have not been back on for a while. Borrowing from the bank is not possible as we already have outstanding loans on land, car and from friends. I guess I am going to have to go into immigration and speak to them about it. I was issued an unlimited KITAP in 2017 so I have 3 years left on...

Divorce, KITAP and right to work

I am currently still married but would like to know would I have similar problems should I divorce my husband of 20 years. I am on unlimited KITAP. My son is an Indonesian citizen. I have not been to UK in 13 years. Currently he is not keen to divorce but I would like to some time in the next...

    Naturalisation

I started my naturalisation process in November, putting in my application for SKM with immigration. However as I did not make the payment till 30 days in (as I did not know it was due up front till the phoned me on the last possible day) so the process was not started until December. At the...

    Home Protection & Self Defence.

I have been living in Indonesia already 22 years so understand how to fit in with the community. This will be my first time, living alone with my son though. I would have hoped that locals would realise that the fact I am living in a tiny, BTN, already means that I am not a rich bule. The TV...

The house is in a BTN which is still under development. Not somewhere we could have roaming dogs. We do have two small dogs which will be kept inside. Our big local dog we will leave with my husband as he is his dog and our house would just be too small for him.

We used to have a black dog, with black eyes, black claws and black spots on his tongue. Our vet offered us a motorbike in exchange for him. :(

OMG your dogs get stolen! Hopefully that will not be an issue here, as my dogs are also my family. They are only small but I am hoping that they will be some deterrent .

Sorry, we went and stayed at the new house for the weekend, without wifi, so no access to the group there. I don't have you on my phone, only my laptop. I have ordered some simple stop contact alarms for the windows from Tokopedia and two fake CCTVs. That is all I can afford for now. Not sure...

Nothing really much help. Different scenarios but thank you anyway. We are going to sleep in the new house tonight. I feel the need to claim back my space. Also, the same people are unlikely to return now they know they got the TV and fans. There is a clunky old TV in my son's room. I doubt they...

Yes will do! Will also get door and window alarms. A guest I had last week is going to send me some dynabolts for the window screens, apparently they fix to the bricks and make them more secure.

"The safe room is a great idea, especially if that's where you sleep with your son." My son is 12 and has his own room. I plan to live in this house till he finishes SMP which he will start this year. Then I will move to a coastal village where I have friends.

How long have you been away from home?

In my 22nd year. Indonesia is home. I have not been to UK now in 12 years. I have no close family there any longer. I would love to take my son to show him where I am from but we don't make enough money for a big trip like that. Instead I took him to Singapore in 2016. I hope that one day, I can...

That is what I told my husband. if they want to get in they will. The iron work on the windows didnt stop them. At our place in Kuta (Lombok) we have high walls behind with glass. We still got robbed a few years ago, over the walls no problem, stole a guests belongings through the window, which...

Thank, yes. The house would be considered a "tiny house" anywhere else. the bedrooms are 2.4x3m, living room not much bigger, so no room for a big local dog. Many locals seem to not be anti dog when it comes to my little guys but some are afraid of them and yes, poison could be used to get pass...
