Adding a single room AC to your house. Reliable unit/pricing?
After about 8 months, here‘s an update. The upstairs breaker does pop sometimes, when using the microwave. Often I’ll turn the AC off, but if the microwave is running for a minute or more, it’s at least a 50% chance it will trip the breaker. Mostly I keep the temp at 23-24c now. I’ll turn it...- Jaime C

Isn’t housing costs in the popular areas pretty expensive? I saw a “retire abroad” show last year, and thought the 3-4k monthly rental in popular cities a little steep for budget conscious people.- Jaime C

I’m quite mobility challenged. Severe arthritis in my knees, horrible pain in my lower back if I’m sitting up for more than an hour. In Bandung, I end up mostly being in my bedroom upstairs. Just going up or down the stairs is a major ordeal. So I jokingly say I’m in prison upstairs for months...- Jaime C

When we first moved to Bandung, before my FIL was disabled and before school for my daughter, we spent about 10-12 juta per month. Rent back then was 3-4 jt a month. Butcher shop in Jakarta with extensive pork selection?
Went to Wakadu Jakarta today. Smallish store with only prepackaged stuff. Everything is frozen, but it had a decent selection. Prices in store lower than their Tokopedia store. My wife also bought some frozen smoked salmon. Not sure if that will taste ok when defrosted.- Jaime C
