    Alot of people fall into the misconception of "cheap". If a coin is sold at 1000 USD with 1000 circulation, compared to another at 100USD but with 100,000 circulation. Which is cheaper? Bitcoin can be cheap if you buy the divisible part, say if you buy 0.001 it will cost you just 4USD. :)

    localbitcoins is quite solid, so far I havent encountered any fraud there, though the fees are likely to be higher there. If you prefer using IDR to buy, then Luno Indonesia or Bicoin.co.id seems to be a popular choice in Indonesia.

    HSBC HK can be quite a snob since they have so many Chinese clients lining up just to give them money, they'll just ask you to fly in for an interview without guarantee of success. Is the Mauritius bank any good?

    Still me. Have not checked with HSBC, but I can confirm DBS allows account opening without KITAS, and I think it's for both IDR and USD.
