Greetings
My wife and I live in Bali and want to join BPJS.
My KITAP and KK were issued locally and my wife's in Malang.
In order to join BPJS I need to change my KK to my wife's.
Is it possible to do this online with out going to Malang ?
Any advice or assistance greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello
I just saw your posting today and wondering if you have any solution to your question.
I will appreciate any assistance in this matter.

I don't know if there have been changes or more standardization since then, but I was never allowed to be put on a KTP with (now) my ex-wife. I've heard that people have gotten it done and may try again with the wife at some point, but I'm not overly optimistic.

I was somehow put on BPJS anyway. Has been a good many years ago and the ex-inlaws took care of it, so I can't even tell you how that was done... I was on their family policy but listed by my passport number. I'm beginning to reconsider the value of this post...

Luck.

Thanks for your response. Did anyone have any information how to register for BPJS online? I have tried their website but still unable to process.

In terms of the KK, they changed it a couple of years ago so now I am on a separate one to my wife (but at the same address). We used to be on the same one. However this may vary by province.
In terms of BPJS I heard that those on a spouse KITAP (not working) are not currently allowed to register for it. I have never tried to do so myself.

We just changed addresses and both my wife and I are are on the same KK. Also, I wasn't allowed to register for BPJS on a spouse KITAP.

If I may suggest, perca the mixed marriage group have helped in bali , wna with kitap ,you need to join but positive results .

I am on the same KK with my sister which is my sponsor and wondering if there is a possibility to register for BPJS online

Thanks for the heads up.

I have never heard of this group before. How did I miss it.?

I see the initial enrollment is 450k and 200k a year after that.

What are the main benefits of membership.?

Honestly , my wife has had some contact with them in the past ,when we needed some clarifications on the "dreaded bureaucracy " , they are close to the relevant departments to represent mixed married ,they have had meetings with bpjs officials here in bali to help wna get access . We never joined as we managed to struggle through .

Thankfully just after bpjs was announced I enrolled myself and family , without issue .

I know in different parts of the country difficulties exist with bpjs application .

When renewed my KITAP Catsip said we had to be on the same KK. I tried to explain that it is supposed to be seperate and had been for the previous 5 years. Nope, has to be the same.

When BPJS started up, after a few months we signed up with no problems. I had a seperate KK then.

I moved back to Indonesia in mid 2021 after 6 years away and previously being on a spousal KITAP. I started again on a KITAS and after 9 months started the process to KITAP, no issues and after KITAP was issued went onto my wife's KK, received my KTP and got onto BPJS. Took a few months and a little bit of work, but certainly doable. This was in South Jakarta.

Did you apply BPJS online or do you have to go to their office?

As always, this changes all the time and is also interpreted different ways depending which Catatan Sipil you go to. Previously a KITAP holder had to get his/her own KK, now they combine again and the WNI spouse will be the head of the household. But hey, that’s a certain Kota in the DKI.

On BPJS there‘s more of a consensus and non-working spouses of WNI are often refused. You see a similar situation with NPWP.

There are two ways to apply online for BPJS now; Via the JKN Mobile application (on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store), or via WhatsApp and the so called PANDAWA system. Besides new registrations they can also be used for the addition of family members, changes to the membership data, etc.

That WhatsApp system can be accessed through number 08118165165. But it’s only available on weekdays (Monday - Friday) at 08.00 - 15.00 local time.

I read this text online. Is this true? Do all foreigners now have to register for BPJS?

"BPJS and its relevance for expatriates, has been a hotly debated topic over the years, particularly as most expatriates fail to see the personal benefit of the scheme. However, it is now a mandatory requirement for all Indonesian residents who have been living in the country for 6 months or more. Ultimately, if you are the holder or a KITAS, you will no longer be able to extend it, unless you have been keeping on top of your BPJS payments".

I thought it always was mandatory?
Its like a few hundred thousand a month basic entry level paid in one lump sum during kitas

Where's your source anyway?

I read it online somewhere at a webpage of an visa agent. I thought it was mandatory for WNI and foreigners who are working here. So, not for retirees, even if they want to register for BPJS.

Can never really trust those sites
Insurance of some kind IS mandatory be it private or bjps
