So I just came out of a meeting with Immigration today and it seems they are set to announce the end of the B211 extendable 6 month visa, the one that is 60 days then 4 x 30 days.
Now it is valid for 30 days only and then you cannot extend it but you can just apply for a new one. (Time limit not mentioned)
So in reality the outcome is the same, you can stay for a pretty indefinite undetermined length of time but the process for you / your agent it now basically every month you apply for a new 30 day visa.

No idea of costs or charges and I am sure more will be officially announced soon. But this is not the VOA or visa free one.
Perhaps still finalising the longer one for business peeps or digi nomads etc

Also no need to exit, you just apply every month at immigration for a new one (or agent, which means no need to go for fingers and fotos)

So let's see what they say on Friday lunchtime

Did you ask about the 180 day visit visa? It is briefly mentioned in recent documents, including the cost, but I have not heard of any implementation.

There's some link somewhere but I can't find it

Please keep us posted because I am looking for a 6 month solution for my daughter. And was already informed the 211B is a waste of time and money now...

Actually nothing has really changed. She can still stay 6 months but instead of extending a visa every month for 6 months you are just getting a new one
Seems a weird way but end result for now is the same. Just the process different for the agent

If the process is as you say, it did. The extension includes agent fees, unofficial "gray" fees, and official government fees, making significant leakage and expensive visa price in general. Maybe the state decided to keep most of these funds for itself. If making a new visa is online every time, there are no more unofficial fees.

But then it seems today another document was released in which the B211 is valid for 60 days and can be extended twice with 60 days each time (2jt per extension). Someone posted this in a facebook group. I'm new to this stuff, but it's SE IMI-0093.KU.01.03 TAHUN 2022.

Yes, it looks like that's the official regulation.

If this is only available online where can it be applied for. Every link to online visa stuff that I have found doesn't work.

Thanks. To apply online for A B211A or whatever it has become, you need a guarantor? Who can be any Indonesian?

I came in on a B211A. Visa agent provided it and acted as the sponsor while I was still in the UK. Got my retirement visa within the first 2 months so didn't have to extend but agent said it could be extended twice (2 x 2 months).

Lucky you changed it because she lied
The new versions since a few months back are valid for 60days only. Cost 2jt + whatever the agent charges and I think also the $50 ?
But after 60days that's it.
You have to apply for a new visa start again from scratch etc new process

Split hairs on if that is renew or extended or not but they say it's "new application" ?!?!
Not extension
So every 2months fingerprints etc not once every 6month visa

I just went through that process for my B211A visa two weeks ago. I worked with a visa agent so I didn't have to do or arrange a lot myself. The visa agency calls it an 'extension' and I've seen it referred to like that elsewhere. But as snpark says, you need to go to an immigration office to get all your fingerprints scanned and you get a new stamp in your passport.

Whether you consider that an 'extension' or a 'renewal' or a 'new application' seems like a matter of definition to me. For me, because I went through an agent, it 'felt' like a visa extension. I wouldn't say the agent "lied".

I meant about the 2 x 2 months. That part was incorrect. It's a 60 day visa. End of.

Technically unlimited

kripik, are you able to mention the costs involved in getting this B211A? And if it's allowed, also the agents details pls?

Regards

I don't understand why you keep returning to this pedantic point. And Immigration's website calls it an extension in both English and Indonesian.

The stay permit derived from this visa can be extended, with each extension granted for 60 days with a maximum stay in Indonesia no longer than 180 days.

Izin tinggal yang berasal dari visa ini dapat diperpanjang dengan tiap kali perpanjangan diberikan untuk 60 hari dengan maksimal masa tinggal 180 hari.
