Music

A small sample of the records I own, with just about every genre represented. Anyone have these? Love 'em? Hate 'em? What say ye?

I had some of them, now my music is all in digital form.

I think my most listened to album music now is:

Reservoir Dogs album track- it just never gets old for me

Hubby's band comes in at #2 on the listening list - Changing Lanes- Brian Rock.

I found that video from a 'recent' radio show that they did... (I did urge the vocalist to get his broken femur fixed properly after the car vs motorcycle incident- he was on the motorcycle, it shows now when I watch him how it has affected his movement)

& then a mix of contemporary female singers eg. I really like Little Mix

I am kinda funny about music- I have the old firm faves who stick around, but I also love to listen to new fresh sounds - basically if it is good then it is good...
unless it is some kind of bamboo or wooden thing- then I turn off straight away- Pan pipes turn my blood to ice.

@Bad_azz Reservoir Dogs, somehow I never got into that ST. As far as Tarantino movies, I think he outdid himself with Jackie Brown. That longing in Jackie's teary eyes as 'Across 110th Street' played - that hit me right here (points to heart).

Nice cover of 'Dead Flowers'! They're a tight band. Which guy is your husband? I get excited for any Indonesian band that doesn't cover Oasis or Hootie and the Blowfish. If I ever own a bar I'm going to have a sign up like that scene in Wayne's World, and it'll say NO OASIS.

Hubby is the tiny one with the long curly hair & a bass.

keep Brian Rockin' & a rollin" boys & girls

I feel I just have to add that the above two youtube versions are by no means the best available & for those interested both these bands are worth further exploration.

The 13th Floor Elevators put out 3 albums the 3rd of which is not worth worrying about. The Flamin' Groovies put out many albums of varying quality with some quite inspiring stuff.

Love these bands ^^^^ :)
Not sure if I have posted it anywhere but a song I absolutely love is Junior's Wailing/Steamhammer.
I have had it as my ringtone for years now & still love it.

I don't have any special ringtone, only this for notifications & with the amount of crap that comes in from Telcomsel & the like, it's starting to drive me a bit batty

I don't like 99% of the new music out there but this is good. Perfect for a day at the beach or a road trip.

I used to really like John Mayer with his heavy blues influences but this one came across to me as more as a sort of too pop for me

He is talented for sure. I have tended to lean more towards Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr and Christone Kingfish Ingram in recent years. Samantha Fish and Dani Wilde are also great and their band Girls With Guitars was pretty decent too. Can't remember the other singer's name but she was good too.

I'll have to check out his bluesy numbers. I know he's quite respected among guitarists, but his above song is the first I've ever listened to in its entirety.

Any recommendations?

Oops, forgot to say. Yeah that song is definitely "one for the ladies", but I'm a sucker for ballads and soft rock. It kind of reminds me of Steely Dan though.

I just hope that once they've honoured their current commitments that they call it a day out of respect.

If I had anything to do with it (with their money) I'd give everyone their money back & call it a day right now.

Toughie but you wouldn't want to be the guy stepping in to replace him. Hopefully the rest calm down and enjoy retirement soon.

I don't think they do it for the money, I think part of it is because their fan base is so huge that they are under pressure to tour, but I think that they love playing music and performing. & the combo is what keeps them touring.

I was in two minds about whether they should quit the tour or continue due to Charlie passing away- it could be seen either way
They could keep touring but have it dedicated as a remembrance tour for Charlie to allow fans to grieve & show respect .
They could donate profits to Charlie's fave charity if they didn't want to profit off his demise.

Or they could halt it & hang up their act for good. To be fair considering their are all a bunch of wrinklies, I am pretty sure they have already had a conversation to make whatever plans should anyone die. So I guess if they continue to tour Charlie would have had some say in it before he died.

I reckon with technology they can synch in video clips and the sounds of CW playing- perhaps make a Charlie avatar?
