Looking to upgrade my wife' cell phone. She has a small old Samsung righ mmmt now with no memory. She won' let me spend a bundle. Her needs are a good camera, she fb a lot and utube. Looking for one with a good battery, fingerprint , decent menerory, Skype annd a 5.5 screen. She doesn' play hi res games or watch hi res movies on it.

So suggstions...Oh I don' like huawei...had one and it was shite.

Oh and water resitant would be nice. Range around 4 million ...I'll tell her it was 3 million

I am partial to Asus series. I am very happy with my last 2 phones from them. For your range I recommend the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie: https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-4-Selfie-ZD553KL/

Some highlights of them:
3 cameras (2 front, 8 and 20 MPs for wide angle selfies, hence the name), 1 in back (16 MPs)
Finger print sensor
Dual Sim slots + microSD
They are around 3 juta.

If you want to upgrade to AMOLED display and a bit more power you can get the Pro version which goes for around 4.5 juta.

Both look good ...Oh by the way has to be and ours based no fucking apples. Sorry to all you iPhone lovers

I've been thinking of picking up a Samsung J7 Pro at around 3-3.5 juta. Well built phone and ticks the boxes (amoled display, 5.5 in, good camera, fingerprint scanner, water resistant, good battery life etc.).

C'mon Steve don't be silly, get down the local 2nd hand phone seller & buy an old one - then get a little bag like the ones the GoJek's use to keep the water off it :)

On a serious note-
I am also looking for something that is not Apple, & doesn't have 2 selfie cameras, but has a fab "normal" camera.

I like the sound of the one Dafluff describes except for the stupid selfie cameras- would be much better as a panoramic camera for photographs & not stupid selfies. They put it in the wrong place to use for that, so everything will be back to front in the pictures. :(

Yes I agree selfie mode isn' as important as a good front camera. We arent 16 !

The xiaomi has a 2 lens rear camera with a 2x zoom mode

You know I alway get confused which camera is which. Is the front one on the side of the screen or is it on the back. If it' on the back why is it the front camera. Oh my brain hurts

If you rather have the 2 lenses on the back, you can get the Asus Zenfone Zoom S. This is the phone I have, and am very happy with it. It's stats compares with Iphone 7+. Here is the review that convinced me to get it (link). Turn on subtitiles for English. It retails for about 5jt, which is less than half the Iphone 7+.

I used to use ASUS and it has been a great experience. the only problem is the after sales service. but it took like 2 years until I change it to this OPPO.
I don't regret buying oppo, but if I could have turn back time, I would have bought another asus.

I've alway had a Samsung and have been happy with it but thought maybe OPPO or Xiaomi or even Asus might give more bang for the buck.
What do u all think ? We are going phone shopping real soon. Which with any electronic shopping drives me crazy looking at so many options till I'm so fucking confused I just buy something so it' over. Also hate the sells people cause they really know less then I do about the item. It' like oh but this one pretty !

Wish me luck

I'd recommend asus. tho I don't use asus at the moment. asus has a 'stronger glass screen' than other brands. so less possibility of getting scratched ( esp if you are as clumsy as I am)

My wife was having lots of problems with her 3 year old Samsung. It would work one day, and then not at all the next.

Picked her up a new model, Honor 7x for about $200 in the US. Seems very nice, with larger screen, very nice cameras. Dual sim, too. Unfortunately it’s a Huawei brand, so I doubt it’s for you.

I had an earlier Huawei a couple years back, and didn’t like it, so I understand your sentiment. I’m hopeful this one will be a keeper.

Well it ended up chooing between a OPPO and a Samsung. And we chose the Samsung j7 pro. The reason was because of service and all our other stuff including our smart tv is Samsung. So we can mirror stuff from the phone onto t.v. and everthing is firmlar. We know where the Samsung service center is. The OPPO was a little cheaper and if I was getting it for myself I would have gotten it. But with my wife short fuse with electoics (And me) thought it was worth the money for a shorter learning curve.
Yeah I'm a chicken.

This is generally the time when the previous years cell phones are being discounted in anticipation of the new year models arriving. If a good camera and battery life are imporatnt then there are generally only 2 cell phones I can recommend excluding iPhones of course. Samsung Galaxy S7+, HTC 10. They all rate tops for their camera. I just bought an HTC 10 at B&R Photo Video (US website) for $330 and really like it. The battery level is generally at 75% by the end of a full day after reading news, email, watching stock quotes, etc. I'm confident it would last all day even with heavy use.

If the price of those phones is too high then there are plenty of options like Moto X4, OnePlus 5, etc. +ME

For your wife usage, id go with OPPO, as their camera tech seems really good. I'm not familiar with their range specifically, so I cant say which matches your budget.

Xiaomi 4 is a good range that would suit you, but its not camera focused but otherwise all round good. I have a xiaomi redmi 3 pro for a year and its as good as when it started even with custom launchers and stuff. Its a brand I generally recommend value focused people
Asus seems good, but I feel after my zenfone 5 I got from 2013 (costing some 1.8juta todays money) works but beside the screen, the rest feels meh. Also the battery is dying on me, gotta change it next month.

I have Moto X style smartphone. It have a great camera (21MP back dual-LED and 5MP front LED-Flash) and also big screen (Size 5.7 inch) and Motorola battery timing its great (3000mAh).

I have a BlackBerry; take what I say with a grain of salt.
