Hawaii has dusted off its sirens in case of nuclear attack.

Pusp, stay here... don't go home xxx

"
The US state of Hawaii has tested a nuclear attack warning siren for the first time since the end of the Cold War.

The resumption of the monthly tests comes amid a growing threat from North Korea's missile and nuclear programme.

Pyongyang has tested a series of ballistic missiles and in September carried out its sixth nuclear test.

Hawaii, in the Pacific, already has a monthly test of sirens warning of natural disasters, including tsunamis.

The nuclear attack signal uses a different, wavering tone, warning residents and tourists to stay indoors and await further instructions."

I'm not a nuclear scientist, but I imagine if a nuclear weapon hits Hawaii then being inside or outside a house will make very little difference.

The famous last words of the mayor of Hiroshima when the the US dropped the bomb, “ What the fuck was that”

I do believe Puspa's sex dungeon could be re-modelled as a bunker... I see some serious shopping trips going on for Pusp in my crystal ball- don't forget the hammer & duct tape, the wind up radio & 90 trillion gallons of water to go with all those MREs ... also a sturdy bucket & loads of sawdust to cover up the poops.

I don't see the fascination with all this other than to get the US citizen's attention away from their economy. Same old, same old. All going not to well? Given all the money to the Chinese? We need a war to get people's attention away from the real shit about to hit the fan.

Kim Jong-Nutter is not going to nuke anyone. He just wants the US to stop poking his country/regime with a metaphoric stick.

It is amusing though that after all these years will still have a Fat Boy.

Here's a scary tool to play with: http://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/?...es=331363&injuries=828779&psi_1=2609312&zm=12
I believe the latest NK nukes are around 120 kilotons.
If by any chance a 120 kiloton NK or US bomb misses its intended target and land in Pasar 45, Manado, I am relieved to learn that, living in Winangun, I may only be part of the 134.370 injured victim and may only suffer from "Third degree burns" which "extend throughout the layers of skin, and are often painless because they destroy the pain nerves." These 3rd degree burns may however cause "severe scarring or disablement, and can require amputation".
All I needed to know to enjoy my Sunday. :)

thought it was a lava lamp

Believe it or not, I have one of those in Hawaii too! It's an "original," more or less: a high school boyfriend gave it to me in about 1975.

It's an unholy mess as a result of two factors:

(1) It was pretty cheesy when brand new. The bulb sits on an inexpensive metal base that was ringed with plastic flowers. The plastic flowers long ago vanished, but the chintzy rim remains. I fill it with seashells or seaglass, which is a big improvement, but still.

(2) The years have taken their toll on the "lava", which once had structural integrity and was a pleasing shade of turquoise. No longer: the turquoise has faded to a sickly bluish white, and the goop has somewhat disintegrated. The big blobs have holes that would disturb any sufferer of trypophobia* and there are a lot of tiny satellite blobs that have broken off from the central blobbery.

I'd post a picture, but I'm in Jakarta and the beeayootiful lamp is in Hawaii. Maybe in a few weeks, when I'm there.
