Whatsapp application down worldwide

I was wondering why my Whatsapp wasn't working. A quick Google search tells me people are reporting the exact same issue worldwide.

So there you go folks, Whatsapp is down, the world is about to end.

We'll have a open line in this thread for users in distress and experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

It's funny, sometimes I've got 3 whatsapp groups chattering away at the same time and other days my phone is completely silent. This is one of the silent days, lucky me.

mine has sent the message to the wrong recipient a few times today. luckily nothing embarassing.
Not sure its WA or me, though I certainly don't normally err in such a manner.
I can't recall ever doing that with WA, & then to do it more than once in the same day indicates I am either losing the plot or WA is.
