Hi Everyone!
I've been working on building a park in Cikokol, Tangerang for about a year now. It's due to open on the 20th of August.
Taman Gajah Tunggal is a park that has been constructed by PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk as a public space for everyone to enjoy. Since Gajah Tunggal is a large tire company, many parts in the park have been created by using scrap materials. Most of the wood has been sourced from old shipping boxes, some steel comes from a large steel scrap pile at the factory, and tires used are all sourced from scrap.
Personally, I think it's one of the better parks in Jabodetabek, but I might be biased. It's functional and for everyone. I hope it also brings awareness to the Cisadane which is often flowing with garbage. I hope to someday work on a project to remove at least the water surface trash.
What have I personally done? I've designed much of the playground components, some benches, and also I helped pave the way for the production of benches that are a bit unorthodox. I even built a few prototype benches to help the process of understanding how to work with the tires and incorporate them into the design without overly increasing the workload.
Since my interests are all over the place, I've put the 3d model of the park into a game engine to see how it would work. It's got some things not right with it but it's still worth sharing. Have a look!
