DIY - Renew KITAS

... Just remembered during the processing 2 years ago, the Kitas sponsor just required 1 billion instead or 10 billion which they increased in December 2024.

How can they just increase a 10 folds and expect us to hit realization this quick
I think you are mistaken , when you got the E28A Visa/KITAS around 2 years ago it already required Rp10 billion (see below) .

The Regulation was revised in Apr 2024 but the change was only the addition of the item (6) , see below .

(1) Applications for a temporary residence visa for foreigner conducting activities as investors for a maximum stay of 2 years ... must be submitted by ... attaching:
a. a passport valid for at least 6 months;

a. Proof of share ownership of at least IDR 10,000,000,000.00 (ten billion rupiah) or the equivalent as listed in the data of the ministry or institution in the investment sector;

Ask Immigration to act quickly so until 3 days before your present KITAS expires you can request a 60 days Bridge Stay Permit , then request the Manager KITAS (as recommended by them , requires a work permit) .

My Kitas was in year March 2024 , around there.
They had the 10 billion changed was on December 2024.

If it is just share is not a problem. It is the realization . Meaning to have this amount of cash invested to sponsor the KITAS
....

We had paid for a service with the lawyer, and the laywer did not advice properly
Suggesting us with this E28A
Why not suggesting us with E25E from the start, then we do not have this issue
 
my current E28A expires on 28 March 2026.

Do not know how long Jakarta will take to process my E28A renewal.

If possible I want to do a bridge after I get the renewal.

To me , your local Kantor Imigrasi will not approve and will not release the request to Jakarta's Immigration Directorate .

If you are lucky and get this extension , better do what I said in post no.54 (that process' fee is maybe only Rp500k not including the work permit) .

If Immigration rejects this extension request , then you request the Bridge Stay Permit (so you avoid requesting an EPO/Exit Only Permit , leaving Indonesia and requesting a new Visa to come back to Indonesia) .

They took in my document and asked me to go for photo taking.

Foreigners are an easy target. Locals almost never get into any trouble so it's pretty much risk free for them.

Didn't you go to Kantor Imigrasi for the photo before they do the inspection ?

The order of actions now are different than when we did face-to-face process . In the past the payment + photo were after Kantor Imigrasi checked the documents . Now the online system asks us to pay before the officers check the documents , and sometimes also asks to go there for the photo at the beginning .

I had spoken to this American guy who stayed in Bali. Owns Villas in Bali and Jakarta. His age is probably early 70+.

He can't be on retirement Kitas as he needs to hold the property.
Even with the holding of his Villas. His paid up capital is 15 percent short to reach 10 billion.

He managed to get his Kitas renewed twice.

He advised me to get an agent who is also your sponsor so they won't screw up your paper.

I wondered on what grounds.. even if the agent is the sponsor. Violations is up to the enforcement. Even if the president, you cannot bend the rules. On the side he had grant pardon to Tom Lembong and Hasto Kristiyanto that threaten his undermine graft.

In fact this is not completely correct.

For a Hak Pakai you need to live in the country and it’s meant for private residential permits, there normally are no possibilities for commercial licenses. But with a ‘western style’ leasehold you can rent out* the properties. So then a PT PMA would not be necessary.

Now I hear you say: “You can not have a Hotel Melati license as individual and a Pondok Wisata license is for Indonesians only!” That’s true but you could partner up with a management company that has the license.

* Obviously there are always permits necessary
