Zero-dollar tours....a new form of tourism

.
Now after the 'Luxor incident' the Chinese government did stimulate their citizens to photograph and report fellow countrymen who misbehave abroad.

Something else that has quite an impact, is the duration of the stay: The average length of stay of tourists in Indonesia in 2015 was 7.5 days, a figure that is 39% lower compared to the 12.5 days in 2000.

If all Australians or French were judged by some of those less refined samples found in Bali, I am sure you would think it to be ridiculous.

Also funny that the Indonesian minister of tourism declared that the biggest increase of visiting tourists came from China, India and...... France!

We visited a large Chinese restaurant and a silk outlet in Jimbaran. In the latter, only one worker spoke Bahasa, the rest was completely Mandarin* (and some Cantonese). The products were all made in China. They told us the shop was not really open for the general public. And indeed, there are only large tour busses on the parking in front.

A similar story for the restaurant; they are really surprised if a small group enters the premises. On Jaka Uluwatu II in front of the restaurant it's a big mess when Chinese tourists are dropped off and picked up. It seems the Ralph Lauren Polo shop downstairs is also benefiting from the deal...

*only a matter of time before the raids will start. Also, many illegals live in kost in the Jimbaran area.

Rude, noisy, disgusting table manners, no idea about queing, you name it.....
As soon they have a bit of money they become completely arrogant as well....

Odd as it is, the vast majority of Chinese people I've met, mainland and HK, have been lovely people.
Of course, if you happen to be a racist, uneducated, culturally deaf, or just stupid, you might very well dislike them.

Well,

Thats probably why the Honkies call the mainlanders locusts....
And alzo why my Bluebird driver this morning was full of "nice" comments about them ?
BTW, there was a hord of them in Carrefour this morning, and guess what ?

And having visited more than 50 countries and lived in about 10, I had a nice sampling of people all around the world !

I have lived / worked in HKG for 8 years, and seen the ever increasing arrivals of mainlanders.

Honkies are a bit better educated, but still.... 8 years among them has used up all my patience.

Ask any taxidriver, waiter, hotel lobby staff, plane cabin crew....what they think about mainland Chinese !

I don't know if it was quite as strong as above........but I have had a family member notice/comment on the big difference they noticed in people's behavior when in one city in China as opposed to the HK Chinese or back in Indonesia. And they were somewhat surprised it also seemed to be people who were well dressed etc..

I've had sex with people from around 50 countries - saved the travelling.
Most were ladies.
