Work Permit and VISA available now?

Hello Expats,

Hope everyone is safe from virus now. I got a job in Jakarta and my employer says Indonesia is open now for Expat VISA application. Anyone has heard the same and experienced? Thanks in advance.

What is an expat visa? Anyway it is your employer / sponsor who will apply for your IMTA work permit and KITAS residence permit

Without them you cannot live or work here legally

They pay, not you

Hello Snpark, thanks for your reply. I learnt right terms for IMTA and KITAS now. The question is I understood those were on hold issuing new IMTA and KITAS due to COVID before. Is that open up again now?

There are a couple of threads here about this. Have a look at them if you want the details. The short version is that you should not be able to get a visa unless you are either: a, already in the country or b, given special permission. Your employer or the Immigration Office will be able to tell you if you are eligible for special permission.
