Its simple,
We are all Indonesian Expats but of course lets see who comes from where.

As my name says im coming from Macedonia.
(i hope most of you know where that is if not i can explain)

How about you ? !

Actually not all of the members are expats in Indonesia - some are Indonesian citizens. At least three members (I won't identify them, it is their choice to reveal as many or as few of their personal details as they choose) are Indonesians who live outside Indonesia.

As for me, I am from the Northeastern United States. But I have lived abroad for 27 of the last 30 years.

Americans are a dime a dozen; Macedonia is MUCH cooler. Do you ever meet fellow Macedonians here?

I'm FROM Scotland but left there when I joined the army at 15 as a junior soldier (now defunct programme). I spent 30 odd years in Canada before retiring here. I have never been to or met a Macedonian before now. Cheers

Puspawarna, im aware of one Macedonian living in Jakarta.
We do have like 4-5 indonesian girls married to Macedonians and they are living in Macedonia at the moment.
And what is the most suprising, 2 years ago when i first went to Bali on vacation with my wife while driving with the motor i accidently noticed an restoran called Balkanika with the Macedonian flag inside...we imidiately stopped and we went there.
The owner was a Macedonian guy and i was suprised to see that to be honest. On the other side of the world i was like "WOW".

Sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Of course scouser59,
We have what they call "Organic" tomatoes. :D
I work on the ships for many years to be honest and i eat alot of veggies.
The vegies here does not have any taste at all my god... they look so nice and you are like "mmmm so tasty" and when you bite they all taste the same.
That is not the case with the tomatoes or other veggies from my moms garden back home !

Norwich, Norfolk, my wife thinks English tomatoes are the tastiest, I don't argue with her

I am from the Northeast US, and while I started my career there I have lived and worked outside the US for more than 20 years, in a number of different countries.

On the tomatoes.....I have lived in many, and travelled to many more places in this world and I honestly have to say the tomatoes in Indonesia are the WORST I have ever tasted.....seriously tomatoes here are just plain awful. No ifs ands or buts......The US has some pretty good tomatoes but I think the tastiest I ever had were from Georgia (the country, not the US State)......

I'm from the South of the UK. I've been living overseas on and off since I was 18. More of my adult life has been outside of the uk than in the UK with 9 of those in Indonesia.

I am from Northwest England. Been here 8+ years.

Yorkshire, England.
My adopted home is Bandung.

Originally The Northern Beaches of Sydney Australia, then 25 years on The Far North Coast of NSW, now 3 years in Bali.

I am from France but spent about two third of my live abroad, with Indonesia being the country where I have spent the most time.

I'm an Americanistani, from New Orleans Louweeeeeeeeeezeeanna.

Contrary to popular belief, locals do not refer to New Orleans as "Nawlins," though we do say the parish (county) is "Or-LEENZ" while the city is "Nu Or-LENZ."

We also don't refer to Louisiana as I did above.

Funny enough, when I am asked this question I always say "Indonesia", as that is the nationality I identify with the most. The paperwork (ie. passport), does not support this, but oh well....

Originally Texas and lived 6 years in Scotland. Funny enough, people back in Texas and Indonesia say I sound British.
