The Heart Thing

Do you agree that a line needs to be drawn somewhere or should people be free to go nude in public? Does it make any difference if the children see? Shoud every culure adopt the same standards?
When I was living in the mountains with clean rivers and lakes, the local community would get together on Sundays for a game of volleyball and swimming, and share food each other made and shared it freely. We would swim and if someone wanted to be naked, that was fine and if someone wanted to wear swimwear that was fine. It was not even an issue. There was no judgement of a person body, such as fat, skinny, tall, short, Black, white, we were high in the mountains so there was only our local friends and not a public place with lots of strangers. We did this for years without any problem. When the kids started going to public school and became more modest, they would wear swim clothes . No one said anything. That was their free choice. There were no lines drawn or rules set in stone. As for all cultures adopting a standard practice, I think this is something personal that each person should decide what to do, and not follow cultural boundaries. Along with religion too. Its a personal matter, not something set in stone by cultural rules and regulations.

There is a difference between nude at the nudist or mixed beach and walking in the street.
Children are usually perfectly at ease with it, till puberty generaly.
I have no problem with cultures or religion except if they try to bring us back to the middle age.

Some parades in the US didn't get the memo that there is a difference between a nudist beach and the street.

Techincally the books on religon haven't changed, so following the religon as written would put you back to older than the Middle Ages. I think whatever rules a culture, society, or religon have will never make everyone happy. There will always be someone that doesn't agree. Two peoples perfect society maybe drastically different.

Do you think that would lead to a happy and productive society? Why have any societal rules at all?

We all know that people will never be free to go naked whenever or wherever they please. While many nudist insist that they have rights and should be respected, the clothed also have rights and should be respected. It is all a question of respect for others.

There should be places where individuals can run free and naked without condemnation from others just like anyone wearing clothes can do so without condemnation by some nudist.

Females should be able to enjoy the same freedoms that males have. That would include going toppless.

I have a strong feeling that if someone could open a nudist resort/campground in Indonesia they would become an international financial success. There are none in SE Asia while there are thousands from SE Asia who belong to various small local organization and international nudist web sites. I used to know of one bule and his wife who regularly hosted nude gatherings in his home until he was transferred. Mixed nationalities. Cookout, beverages, snacks, and skin. Everyone just chilling naturally. Maybe someone else picked up the hosting after their departure.

For the one discussing earlier times in Indonesia and noticing the women were topless, it's true. In Bali it went up to the early 50s. The rest of the nation seen the changes towards the beginning of the 20th century. They asked if it was a force pushed by Islam. Not at all. Of course. If Islam would have tried to tell Balanese what to do they would have been chased off the Island. Batak AND those from Toraja would have laughed at them and the same for those in North Suluwesi.

Excluding all those and then some leaves you a lot of Muslims and by the way they rant and rave today, you would think they had something to do with covering up those evil nipples. It actually was missionaries in the Christian areas and the Dutch invaders in the rest. The Dutch actually introduced the kabayas. You know, the original Indonesian fashion. They brought them in for the upper class females so they could look more respectable within the Dutch circles. Funny about the Dutch. More respectable to them was a completely see through lace kabaya.

One thing to always remember is that the females Muslims of time gone by were no less Muslim in their beliefs as the modern day Muslim woman. The early writings of the Quran written of course in Arabic, when it comes to covering one's body, the actual Arabic interpretation is Tressure. Women are to cover their treasure. This all changed over time with the insecurities of men so it became head, face, neck, shoulders, and down and down until Omar the tent maker got rich in the fashion industry.

Hijabs came by way of Arab/Indonesians after Suharto fell and the mass organizations ran wild. There goal was to suppress the woman and ensure their status was less than a man according to their interpretation of the Quran and the hadiths written by men hundreds of years later telling others how they should think and do. Like circumcision, not in the Quran. Came hundreds of years later along with plucking out all your pubic hairs and not growing your nails long. You know, one of those rules you can pick and choose from depending on your likes.

Being somewhat prudish I am not troubled by the idea of nudist camps or nudist beaches but I am a little puzzled by the need to congregate naked. In Melbourne in the 60s there was a sudden enthusiasm for topless bathing which did not bother me but I recall feeling rather awkward running in to an older female friend at the beach who was topless. It felt rather strange chatting away and guarding against my gaze dropping down to her bosom.

Spending time in Sarawak in 1971 it was somewhat titillating to find that as one went up river Dyak women were topless and then spending several weeks with Punans in the deep jungle one got used to women without tops. I recall that on the way heading back down river and stopping at a riverside store and a woman wearing what was basically a see through blouse and noting how this somehow excited my imagination after time with completely topless females.

Again, it doesn't bother me but am somewhat amazed at the g string swimming costumes that now appear frequently at Jimbaran beach. Given the indignant outrage often shown here about "decadent" western behaviour I am surprised that the g strings have not met with policing.

I do wonder if Fastpitch might be at risk with his bothersome heart were he to bump into one of these scantily clad ladies?

Oops...or even worse, Borat.

G string should be mandatory ! For females only, my open minded spirit has limits ......

Back to the issue of hearts, is it possible to receive monthly medications from the heart doctor without having to go through the long drawn out procedure of hiring an expensive taxi, senseless waiting at the hospital for hours, blood test, just to talk to the doctor for 10 mins. And getting medications that BPJS doesn't want to cover all of them? I have been doing this now for 4 months and would like to not have to go every month for medications. Any suggestions?

Perhaps you could order refills using an online marketplace? Even when they require prescriptions, they might accept an older prescription form (and there is even an option for an online doctor's appointment to get an instant prescription).

I dont know if this will work but halodoc app has online chat with doctors and they then write prescriptions which are automatically delivered by a gojek like service. Dont know if theyd go so far as heart medicines but only one way to find out.

Harry, the Borat thing may be a bother but not for the attire. Just never had much interest in his humor. The g-string or even less is just no big deal to me. OMG, she has a body. Ha, just like another 4 billion in the world. Maybe some different shapes and sizes but still all come with the same equipment. Same for males. Why get excited over just one of billions?

Depends what you take. I brought prescriptions from the US over 10 years ago but never shown them. Just stop at my regular apotek and tell them what I want. As for trips to the apotek, many if my meds and now including a new one come packaged 100 to a box. 1.5 to 3 months supply. My wife's meds are only packaged 30 to a box so still have to return. Apotek ladies are always kind and a lot of fun. Otherwise I would just get multiple boxes and not go in for awhile.

There is a large, stock everything Apotek in Points Square in Jakarta Selatan. I can't remember their name but they never seem to question anyone and just fill whatever you order. Probably not a narcotic since they are counted and controlled by the government. If you know what you need or the generic for it, head there. I recommend the generic for everything. Find what they are and their price on Mims.

What is price on mims?

For those who want to wear that. For those who don't, whatever suits them as long as it's not a drowning hazard.

Tested negative today for the first time. Will recheck tomorrow in case of a false negative. Finished with anti viral regiment. Went for a short walk yesterday, a few hundred meters maybe. Felt like a 50 mike hike. Gotta build that up I guess. See doc tomorrow.
I wish you speedy recovery FP!
