RI disbands hard-line Islamic group Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI).

Today, Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security, announced the disbanding of the radical group. Already banned in many Muslim majority countries (such as Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan), this group was especially vocal during recent demonstrations in Jakarta. I hope that the government follows up by arresting its leaders, and removing any members from government posts and position of influence. Otherwise this is just another theatrical act, and HTI will just emerge under a different name.

Hizbut is an international political and religious movement that seeks to establish a global caliphate and rejects both capitalism and secular democracy. While official non-violent (har har har), many members have nevertheless gone on to more militant ideals, commited acts of terrorism and joined ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

I vote theatrical act. They won't go away. They won't arrest their leaders unless they come out and get very anti government vocal. While this is a bad bad group to have around, others that are just as anti constitution are more vocal and they too need to be dealt with. Like the FPI.
