New customs regulation, only 5kg of processed food allowed per person?

Production methods must have significantly improved. The Indonesian employees were producing 16 pair of shoes a week. In Calcutta it became 60 pair of shoes per week per employee. Or was it one of those sweat shops where employees were locked in 7 days a week and working 14 hour days?
I have been in Bata shop and many model are actually from China. And the range of models in Bata Indonesia sucks, and look pretty cheap.

My wife flew in, and was a bit paranoid with the new ”regulations” at customs. She brought about 100kg of stuff in her checked and carryon luggage.

She was even worried about bringing a 3 year old Michael Kors handbag.

At CGK, she did see some people getting their bags searched. Most seemed to have their luggage tags marked on in some way.

As always, no problem bring lots of Costco stuff. Corn and flour tortillas, cheeses, bacon, salsa, chocolates, carnitas, pulled pork and other fun stuff.

In the past, they used to mark bags with chalk. Of course, it was pretty easy to use wet wipes to erase said marks. Glad to hear that bringing a bunch of Costco stuff still does not trigger full searches.

I had gotten a couple of chalk X’s 10+ years ago. Nothing ever became of them. I know forum members would just erase the X’s before they went through customs, but I’d never do that.

Didn’t they switch to speedol on the tag to avoid the tissu basa action? Of course the scan of the barcode and integrated systems should completely take over those manual processes.
