Hello, I am a Muslim from Azerbaijan living in Canada with a Canadian citizenship. I want to get married to my fiancée who is also Muslim and lives in Medan, Indonesia. We are planning a wedding ceremony for December 21. We know the documents we need and are gathering them but we don't know where to submit them. Does the Sistem Informasi Manajeman Nikah work for this purpose? It looks like you can create an account there to upload documents. I can't visit the Canadian embassy in Jakarta anytime soon because I have some health issues (which will be resolved in December before the wedding, according to doctors). Does anyone have advice?

Yes , it seems you can do it there (see how in the article below) . But your future spouse can also do it face-to-face at the local KUA .

If you intend to marry outside KUA , I recommend you to register online , because this way you probably will be sure to pay only the official Rp600'000 . Otherwise the marriage is free/gratis and requesting it face-to-face is maybe easier .

Although KUA specifically asks for a proof that you are not married from your Embassy , your KUA can accept a similar document that you can get in your country (see details here : https://www.expatindo.org/community...nt-for-a-singaporean-to-wed.8141/#post-113537) .

Ask your future spouse to talk to KUA (where you intend to marry) about this option and if it is required to legalize it in Canada (by the Apostille way) and sworn translated (in Indonesia is cheaper and can be done online) .

Sending this document from Canada will save you a trip to Jakarta and speed up the marriage request at KUA (after you request the marriage , you still have to wait some days before the marriage ceremony) .
