The revelations coming from Malaysia and ex PM Najib makes all graft cases in Indonesia seem boring.

The raid on the ex PM's house has revealed 72 of his wife's handbags had over US$28M in 26 different currencies. They also include so much jewelry and expensive watches etc. that it will take a week to assess the value.
I'm sure Imelda Marcus is seething at being outdone by her Malaysian sister...but she can always show her US$5B net-worth as her antithesis... unless the investigation shows more Najib corruption assets.

I'm still hoping some will join me to crowdfund the yacht in Benoa Harbour that doesn't seem to have an owner now 1MDB is being scrutinized for asset ownership....:fish2: :thumb:

Yeah he’s not allowed to leave the country anymore. If there is one flight risk, it is this one.

The development fund 1MDB has been a great private vehicle for over 8 years now; I remember that a couple of years ago the American prosecutor stated more than 3.5 billion USD had disappeared overseas.

I particularly enjoy the twist that police will now investigate a complaint from Mrs Najib that one or more of the investigating policemen at the Najib residence helped themselves to chocolate from her refrigerator. Her indignation at this alleged lack of respect seems to have blinded her to the irony that she is complaining about the loss of perhaps several dollars worth of chocolate while her husband has fleeced the nation of hundreds of millions of dollars not to mention her own part in wanton expenditure on jewellery

...his wife's handbags ......They also include so much jewelry and expensive watches etc. that it will take a week to assess the value.

It seems they contacted Hermès France to determine the value of her bags...

A problem all over S.E.A.
Was confronted to it in every country I worked in.

Even in South Korea it is an old tradition... up to the top level.

Exists also in HKG, but a bit more discreet....

The Saudis gave him $1 billion, for some fund, a quarter disappeared, no explanation as to where it went
