The reason women find it difficult to park is that they still really believe this is six inches :pound:

More and more malls offer the 'ladies only' facility. But as in SMS for instance, it is only about the driver. So I see quite some couples swapping and people changing behind the wheel before they enter the parking garage.

The 'ladies only' I rarely see in Europe. The Carrefours etc. do offer 'mama with baby' parking slots though.

The 'drive' formula is getting more and more popular. And that is something that can be very useful over here; order online and have it picked up at a drive through counter. Even in combination* with Grab, Gojek or Uber.

In the UK it is Parent & Child.
Ostensibly to cut down incidents of kids running in front of moving vehicles between the parking area and the store entrance- and they offer wider spaces so that there is room for buggies or prams etc.

Not sure what the brouhaha is about? Almost all parking lots in Canada have an expectant mother/parent with small children parking spot. Usually right next to the handicap spots.

As far as the women's parking spots, I thought the idea was to give them spaces close to the entrances so that they wouldn't have to walk far and alone at night/in darkness through an empty parking lot...don't seem like this is a terrible idea.

This is why....

....thus, as usual, a bad implementation of a good idea.
