That would be great but probably about 0% chance. With some of the negative Muslim sentiment towards Ahok and Jokowi building towards an election.

Ahok said that he will continue working as governor until October 2017, because originally Jokowi was appointed for the period 10/2012 to 10/2017. So Anies' inauguration should theoretically be in October.


Personally I am pretty convinced those things -like (il)legal prostitution- will not really change. But of course he has to show some action is being taken so he might close the joint yes. Esp. since Alex Tirta was considered to be rather close to Ahok. And the new administration will obviously apply some new anti alcohol regulations again. (To pester us and keep the general public outside of Jakarta at peace.)

fastpitch I read you were recently in Jakarta. With the relatives and all the other stuff going on, you are probably thinking of moving back?

Never and we have talked that after one more visit this Summer, it may be even the last visit there except for perhaps an airport transfer of planes. Family wants to see us, they can get on a plane, in a car, on a boat and come to us.
