Inverter AC and cleaning schedule

Just thoughI would make this post if anyone is considering an inverter AC. I have one AC that runs pretty much 24/7 365. It only gets turned off if I leave for a few days. It needed replacing so I decided to put in a Daikin Inverter. Everyone around me was very against getting the inverter but I felt that since it ran so much, it would save money on power and the doctors offices at the hospital use the same exact one. I'm thinking they can't be that bad.

After 4 months it quit cooling well and I was thinking, oh no everyone was right and I made a mistake. Called out Daikin authorized service in case it was a warranty repair. Turns out the outdoor unit was absolutely filthy and it just needed a cleaning. I used to get the regular unit cleaned every 6 months but it appears that with this inverter I will have to go with every 3 months. Not a big deal and overall I'm happy with the purchase. Not sure how much it actually saves on electricity but it is much quieter than the old unit.
 
Everybody here has a different opinion about inverters. It theoretically should be cheaper to operate. But many technicians say it’s an hoax and advise against it. Also for washing machines etc. With my swimming pool pump I don’t see a difference in power usage.

Cleaning or getting dirty has nothing to do with Inverter.

Midea advises every 3 months and Daikin? Even more often….

 
All our AC at home in Bali are Daikin inverter, total 7 units, have been operating for more than 1.5 years, not daily use though. So far, no single issues.

Seeing as how the outdoor fan runs constantly on an inverter instead of turning on and off like a standard, it makes sense that an inverter unit will need to be cleaned more often since it pulls more air through the coils.

No it doesn’t. Despite the fact that two super technical savvy members of the forum agree with you, an AC inverter system generally runs its compressor and fan motors at lower, variable speeds rather than turning completely on, blasting at full power & speed and then off again. This is the point; lower average RPM leads to a reduced and steadier movement of air . And what does reduced mean….

Of course you disagree. Daikin service must not know what they are talking about.
