Interview for 'Lifetime' Exit Re-entry Permit (MERP)?

I'm here with a 'lifetime' KITAP and would now like a new 'lifetime' Exit Re-entry permit for a trip I'm hoping to make. A Google search took me to a forum in which someone stated that there will be an interview with immigration before the permit is issued. Anyone else heard that? The trouble is that I won't be back at my registered address before I go away. I suspect the info is wrong but has anyone here had an interview before being issued with their Exit Re-Entry Permit?

No way.

Not even before the IMK was available via the eVisa system.

It was so easy that my wife -the sponsor- could go in my place.

I also don't believe an interview is required for a Re-Entry Permit/IMK .

Not long ago there were some members of this Forum who got it (see references below) and they did not mention any interview . And also , the rule also does not mention any interview and even allows you to get it when outside Indonesia (see it at https://www.expatindo.org/community/threads/re-entry-permits-new-rule.7945/#post-109939) .

MERP expired - KITAP tarik advise please

Hi all, Arrived back to Indonesia and was refused entry as my MERP has expired. The only way to get in and go home was for them to cancel my kitap and make me buy a VOA. I can not understand. Nor can the local Kantor imigrasi and they say they are powerless to assist and tell me it's my fault...
