Hi, I have my passport, and I believe my EPO application is in progress. However, I need to leave earlier than planned due to a family matter overseas. Will I be stopped by immigration because the EPO is still pending? I am willing to return and complete the EPO process later. Or how long does the EPO process take I was told 5 days (in Bali) Thanks.

Why do you want an EPO? Can't you leave just leave when you want to? Before when I was ready to leave. I just went to the airport, Passport, Ticket, and all my belongings, payed the departure tax, and left.
Is there something I'm missing here?

Right, however the EPO process has been started by my employer and that was okay because I had time, however, now I would prefer to leave ASAP. If the process hadn't started then I could just do as you suggest. So my question is, does it matter or can I still just leave.

There is an alternative to EPO which is done after you have left the country. Is immigration holding your passport while they're processing your EPO? I would contact them immediately, tell them your situation, and if they can't process the EPO in time for your new departure have them cancel it.

Thanks for this, useful advice. No they aren't holding my passport, I have it. I will contact them tomorrow and do as you suggest.

What a crazy story. Don't for any reason leave the country without your passport! This a ridiculous idea. Without a passport, you can't enter any country. Even your own. Go to immigration talk to them about what you want to do. And they should cancel this EPO. Why would have even started getting this permit? This was mentioned in another post. I have never heard of such a thing. Why are people getting this?

The process is now probably done online , so it is difficult to know . I guess Immigration will not stop you .

I imagine that if the EPO now is an e-EPO (sent to your employer's email) , you may not need to return to Indonesia . Ask Immigration about these situations .

Online it may be quicker , if your employer doesn't delay the Immigration fee payment (EPO fee = Rp100'000) . You can ask your employer (or visa agent if the case) if the fee was already paid or not .

Ok, thanks for your input. I have contacted immigration and awaiting their reply.

Here is the page about EPO and ERP, the ERP is for cancelling from outside Indonesia. Make sure to take photos of your exit stamp in your passport and keep a copy of the e-ticket of your exit flight.
